• Infrastructure – There are not enough schools, GPs, etc.to cope with the existing population, without adding massively to it.
• Infrastructure – currently the traffic congestion and roads in Cobham/Stoke D’Abernon and Oxshott are unable to cope with current levels of traffic
• To improve the car-parking facilities around Cobham, as it’s hard to support local shops and businesses when you can’t park!
• Urbanisation – increasing encroachment of greenbelt
• Pollution – levels already unacceptably high given A3 & M25 proximity - due to the amount of traffic already on local roads, and the enclosure of Cobham within the M25 and A3, pollution is already high. Local hospitals have a name for asthma admissions … the ‘Cobham Cough’.

Carter Jonas on behalf of BGL… There is a shortage of housing in Elmbridge and the need is estimated to be for 9,480 homes
(market and affordable) up to 2035, approximately 500 per annum. This is the main challenge
facing the Council. We consider the pressures for other forms of development to be less significant
overall.
Meeting this identified need in the form of sustainable development is a fundamental requirement
of the development plan process, and as such, requires that social and environmental
considerations are fully acknowledged, especially in relation to social, community and physical
infrastructure.

• Local public transport will not cope with increased demand.
• Urbanisation of our village – increasing encroachment into the Green Belt
• Pollution – levels already unacceptably high given A3 & M25 proximity
• Erosion of environment and not protecting natural habitat
• Catering for the health of the current population, the village doctors are already over subscribed & hard to be seen quickly.
• State Primary schools are already over subscribed in Oxshott. Secondary schools are non-existant. There is no plan offered for schooling.
