Consultation on our Local Validation Requirement; Design and Access Statement
A planning application must include certain information in order for it to be considered valid. Some of these requirements are stipulated in planning legislation and the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and these are known as the national validation requirements.
The NPPF also makes provision for planning authorities to adopt a local list of validation requirements.
What is this consultation about?
Our current validation requirements was adopted back in 2018. This consultation focuses on changes to be made to our current Design and Access Statement requirement.
We want to hear your views!
If you would like to comment on the update to our Design and Access Statement validation requirement, the consultation will run for 6 weeks from 25 October until 06 December 2021
All comments must be received by 4pm on Monday 06 December 2021 and can be submitted either:
- by using the online questionnaire
- by email to tplan@elmbridge.gov.uk
- by post to Elmbridge Borough Council, Planning Services, Civic Centre, High Street, Esher, Surrey KT10 9SD
Following the consultation, all comments will be considered and where appropriate changes will be made. It will then be considered by the Council for approval in January 2022.
Planning applications received after the publication of the updated criteria will be expected to meet the new requirement.
